How to Care for Your Rhinestone Tee

Caring for Your Rhinestone Tee
Rhinestone pieces are made to be worn and seen — but a little care goes a long way in keeping them looking their best. Follow these steps each time you wash your tee to protect both the stones and the fabric.
Washing
- Turn inside out before washing. This is the single most effective step — it shields the rhinestones from friction against other garments and the drum of the machine.
- Use a mesh laundry bag. Place your tee inside a fine-mesh bag for an extra layer of protection against snagging and abrasion.
- Wash on a cold, gentle cycle (30°C or below). High temperatures and vigorous cycles can weaken the adhesive or setting used to secure the stones.
- Use a mild, liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach — these can dull the finish of the stones over time.
- Wash separately or with similar items. Avoid washing with heavy denim, zips, or anything with rough textures that could catch on the embellishments.
Drying
- Air dry flat where possible. Lay the tee face-down on a clean towel or drying rack, still inside out.
- Avoid tumble drying. Heat and tumbling can stress the stones and the fabric.
- Do not wring or twist the garment — gently press out excess water instead.
Ironing & Storage
- Do not iron directly over the rhinestones. If the fabric needs freshening, iron inside out on a low setting or use a steamer held at a distance.
- Store flat or folded face-up in a drawer, or hang on a padded hanger. Avoid storing under heavy items that could press on the embellishments.
A Note on Longevity
With the right care routine, your rhinestone tee should hold up well through regular wear. If you ever notice a stone coming loose, avoid washing until it has been re-secured — catching it early prevents further loss.
